Running latest QNAP public release and Big Sur 11.0.1, I’m no longer able to back up over the network using Time Machine.
This is with 2 Macs, one which was upgraded and using an existing Time Machine sparseimage and another Mac which was a fresh build and attempting to create a new sparseimage.
Both Macs can see the QNAP Time Machine share and appears to authenticate fine, but the first Mac is still searching for the disk according to the TM System Preferences.
The second Mac errors after about a minute (message slips my mind), but on the QNAP you can see a new sparseimage is created with a temporary name and has about 1Kb of data written to it.
