I've been using Optiscan as a QR Code Reader on my iPhone. I'm looking for essentially the same type of program, except it will be on my MacBook Pro (or any other Mac desktop/notebook) that uses an iSight Camera.

There are programs that generate QR Codes, but I am looking for one that does specifically reading. It can do both, or any combination, but the reading must be included.

I preliminary Google search brings me close, a lot of possibilities (mostly in Japanese, which i do not read). But ultimately I have found nothing. I was hoping someone could direct me towards program.

Thank you.

Also on the Search

Hi,

I am also searching for an online Application whichworks for qr codes for mac. Did you found anything jet? Even the link to japanese sites would be nice.

Thanks

I'm after this nonexistent app too.
I think it's exactly the sort of thing we'll see more of when the Mac App Store launches.

Small utility apps which have strong core functionality and work effectively without much unnecessary extras.

Just so I get a notification when someone finds an application like this. I would really love this. I could write it myself if I wanted to take the time, but I already have alot I'm working on.

Desktop QR Code Reader

I found this thread because I was looking for the same thing.

I found this application which is in Adobe Air format that does it.
I tried it with my MacBook iSight camera and it worked great.

How did you get your iSight camera to work?

Worked fine with mine. 2011 13" MBP. Detected it without any input from me, said "USB Video Class Device".

Even though it's Adobe Air, it seemed to work fine for me.

QR reader

Hi All,

I am essentially building a system which reads QR codes. I found QR Journal to be very fast in comparison to Adobe Air.but then, it is not giving me an option to save the retrieved value in the database or textedit.

Has anybody done similar stuff ?

Thanks
