My cinema has a QR code next to each seat for ordering food. Unfortunately, it's always too dark in the cinema for the phone to recognise the QR code.

What to do? The flashlight can be turned on when in video mode, but video mode doesn't recognise QR codes at all. Photo mode recognises QR codes, but doesn't allow the flashlight to be turned on. So, if it's dark, I'm stuffed.

Any suggestions?

Try the code scanner. Add it to your control center and open it, then scan the qr code

Thanks! I didn't know that gizmo existed.

This is made for that and has a flashlight setting on it.

Alternatively on an Apple intelligence enabled iPhone you can use visual intelligence I use that instead on my iPhone 15 Pro
