I have a couple Q's about 10.5.2 and the graphics update.

1) do either of these contain updated drivers for the GMA X3100?

2) does this allow me to install 64-bit xp on my MacBook with boot camp? thank you!

1) i think so
2) no, it has nothing to do with bootcamp its leopard only

I don't see any changes. The macbook still won't let me run 16-bit color. nothing new.

how do i make it so the menu isnt translucent?

Desktop and Screensaver panel.

Your MacBook can't display more than 8-bit colour anyway. Unless you are talking about using an external display.

I updated my macbook (gma x3100) to 10.5.2 and got the leopard graphics update as well.

My animations are still choppy as ever. Anyone noticed better performance?

Apple notebooks currently use 6-bit panels and this is the subject of some a lawsuit underway.

6-pit panel =276K colors?

8-bit panel = 16million colors

Note: As far as I am aware of, all laptops on the market use 6-bit panels.

Meant 6-bit, I even looked it up and still put an 8. Sigh.

I have the X3100, I am sure that the drivers have been updated since I can now view trailers in 1080i with a smooth framerate! :D Some animations are still choppy though.

I meant, that I still cannot run the display in thousands of colors which is required by some games and apps. Kinda a bummer, and some games still won't run that ran on my previous macbook with the gma 950 just fine.
