Is there a way to get out of the activation fee? I understand my first bill will be pro-rated, does activating in mid-month bring the bill down a bit? I have to use these coupons by 12/31/098 at Best Buy. Kinda concerned with MacWorld 2009 a month a way. Are there any rumors of a price drop? In other words, I don't want to get an 8GB next week, then January Mr. Jobs announces 8GB's are $99. Lastly, what are the average phone bills? i guess they vary state by state (I live in Northern Virginia). I just want the cheapest phone plan, cheapest text plan and the unlimited data. Oh, and does having 3G mean getting better indoor phone reception?

If you have a FAN discount that waives the activation fee, yes that can be done.

Not sure, call AT&T

Too many to mention, but rumors are rumors...

Read the other threads about that $99 pricing.

That's $49.99 cheap plan + $30 unlimited data plan + $5 cheapest text plan + your state taxes

Depends entirely on your area, check out AT&T's coverage map.

Supposedly At&t's 3G network in northern VA isn't very good (so I hear). I don't live there so I can't confirm this for you, but maybe someone can let you know.
