QT instruments in GB?

I have been able to use my MAudio keyboard in GB to select QT instruments not otherwise available (like 114 steel drums, etc). I have also figured out how to add sf2 files for use. BUT, I have not been able to save the QT instruments to the GB menu. This means having to reselect every time I make a change. Is there any way to save the QT instruments or convert them to sf2 files? Thanks for any insight!
