QT stopped video recording but not audio

Hello,
(I hope this is in the right section!)

I recently recorded a video using Quicktime and a few minutes into it the video freezes (I think it co-incides with the screensaver coming) - but the audio kept recording. This happens in any app I try to play it (VLC, QT etc) - the video stops at the same point - about 4:00 (which is also listed as the total length of the file) but the audio keeps going.

Is there anyway to salvage the video, or is it likely the Quicktime just randomly stopped recording video but kept recording the audio? :eek:
