Hay...
i was wondering...
are there anyone who had successfully upgrade a Core 2 Duo to a Quad Core in the imac8,1.

i can see that the CPU is using a LGA 775 Socket T.
witch means that i can put a INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q9650 3.0GHZ 12MB 1333MHZ S-775 to get a extra boost of cpu power.

right now i have a E8435 Core 2 Duo at 3.06ghz.
i cant find anything on google.. the early who had try change a CPU in a imac was a Core duo to a Core 2 duo...

It seems like if they can make OSX run on non-Apple hardware, then they should be able to make a C2Q work in place of a C2D.

24" iMacs have Socket P, not LGA 775. You could put in QX9300 but seriously, 1000$ for 2.53GHz quad ain't that good deal. You could sell your current and grab a refurb i7 for less!
