How would the Quadro FX 4500 compare to the Geforce 6600 in 3D apps like Cinema 4D and Maya for rendering?

Also, where would I buy the Quadro FX 4500 for Mac?

>>>Xephian...just say no. The Quadro FX4500 is a great card on a pc for Maya, etc...but the drivers for it on the Mac are HORRIBLE. Performance is TERRIBLE for the money. Complete waste of money. Now...the OS 10.4.4 update has included new drivers for the card, but so far...i have yet to hear of any significant improvement. There is a big thread on this at cgtalk...detailing benchmarks, etc. This has also been discussed at 3dbuzz.com by enigma who owns a quad Mac with a FX4500. Despite the OS X update, it still seems if you *need* fx4500 performance...buy/build a pc. On the Mac platform...get a 7800 gtx.

hope this helps...
peace
