Okay. On my 2008 octo Mac Pro I have an ATI 3870 as well as the stock 2600 xt. With CS5, which I'm going to get very soon, Adobe is going farther with GPU acceleration, so I'm serious about looking at supported cards (all Nvidia).
If it was really worth it, I'd go for the Quadro - 700 buck cheaper at Newegg - but reviews suck for such an expensive card - http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/2...at-the-nvidia-quadro-fx-4800-mac-edition.ars/
The GTX 285 at a 3rd the price seems to be a better card, but I'd regret not getting the GPU acceleration advantage.
Anybody out there know what up with that?
I'm going for hardware raid and ssd's and the whole shebang, and I'd hate for the graphics card to be a weak point.
