We have a long long way to go with VR and AR (even much more so AR) but I genuinely feel we should all welcome any and all competition in the market.
We only have the amazing phones we do these days due to competition from other companies and each trying their best to move forward with each product generation.
Sure there will be winners and losers and the whole thing may crash and burn apart from a smallish Gaming/Entertainment market like we have now, as normal people simply don't want to wear a large heaset.
Sure, if you could snap your fingers and make something today that looked like normal glasses that did it all, then sure, a mass market hit overnight. But I'm guessing we are probably up to 20 years from that, simply because of how to actually make it.
So yes, welcome with interest all companies.
The Samsung/Google high end headset it supposed to be shown off at the end of this year.
Google will bring the Play Store (which they did not let Meta have) and Samsung will bring some amazing screens I'm sure.
It's going to be an exciting year with AI and AR/VR being the main focus of 2024 I'm pretty sure.
