I just got a new 16 inch i9 2.4 with 5300m graphics. It's noticeably dimmer than the i9 2.3 5500m that I'm returning. I might not notice this if I didn't have them sat next to each other. I downloaded an android app for an extremely unscientific lux reading and it seems like the new one gets about 560 lux while the older one reads about 590. The screen is the #1 thing for me on this unit, but I don't want to go through the headache of returning this for yet another one.

Has anyone noticed this issue?

Right, well, it's just an android app that measures light in the general vicinity. I'm holding it up directly to the screen.

In any case the new one clearly is not as bright. It's very noticeable. My current one (which I have to return today if I'm going to) really pops when you turn the brightness up all the way (it even slightly hurts your eyes!). The new one does not have that effect.

This seems like pretty bad quality control tbh. Not to mention the coconut battery shows 88% battery health on my new one LOL.
