Quality of brands – external HDs

Just wondering how people rate the different brands?

Are Iomega any good. I would normally go WD or Seagate (but was warned off maxtor).

I would go with WD if you are buying an external. Their offerings are some of the best storage and reliability for the price.

Keep in mind that all hard drives will fail, so always make sure to backup your data.

Been impressed with the WD mybook I recently bought so far. Runs really quietly and backed up everything very quickly (fw800/5oogb)
