Soon I am going to burn a few audio CDs for my car and I have about 10 audio CDs that I'd like to import into iTunes. We have a rMBP and a 2012 Mac Mini so no disk drive.

I would use one very infrequently so I wanted to ask: should there be a real quality difference between the below options in terms of the quality of audio import?

Samsung
LG
Apple Super Drive

Apple's drive obviously is nicer aesthetically, but this is an infrequently used utility so the super drive just seems so lavishly expensive. Will the SuperDrive result in any better quality of import and burning?

no diff

Since they are all digital, the quality will be exactly the same. Just pick the drive which meets your budget best.

And yes, the 2.0 vs 3.0 is merely a speed issue.

Best of luck !!
