Quartz 2D Extreme?

Anyone using Q2DE regularly? I've had it on for awhile now (by enabling in Quartz Debug and force quitting), and seem to have no problems with it.

Things seem snappier, but I don't know if it's just my imagination...

I wonder why it's not enabled by default even in 10.4.2...

I'm running a AlBook 1.25 w/ 1.25G

I've been using it for a couple of weeks without any problems. I haven't noticed any difference at all on my 1.67GHz/2GB PowerBook, which I just updated to 10.4.2.

When you say things seem 'snappier', what exactly are you talking about? Are you just experiencing general 'snappiness', or are you experiencing it while performing specific tasks?

I never noticed the difference until I went on my roommates' much faster iMacs (iMac G5 1.8 vs. eMac G4 1.25). I believe it's done a whole lot.
