Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial for Quartz Compositor? From what I hear, QC has been used for years to make nice screen savers for OS X and I would like to learn how to do this too. I have the latest Xcode and I'm running OS X 10.11.6 on a Mac mini (late 2012), so I should have all of the necessary tools.. I just need a tutorial for QC.

Its name is Quartz Composer, not Compositor.
What did you try? I simply googled: Quartz Composer tutorial screensaver
One of the top hits:
