Query about activating iPhone on Apple Upgrade Program

Hi All,

I just ordered a 8 Plus and enrolled in Apple Upgrade Program. My question is when I receive my iPhone do I just swap SIM?( I currently have 7 Plus unlocked on Verizon). I had issues going from 6 Plus to 7 Plus with activation until I realized I could just put my old SIM into new phone and all was cool. Just wondering if I could do the same or is the SIM different?

If you signed up for the Apple Upgrade Program, it will come pre-activated with the sim and you can't just swap sim. I signed up last year and tried to do this on the 7 Plus and it wouldn't let me swap sims before boot. It required me to activate the new sim.

Yes it will be under your same phone number as when you signed up for it you entered your current phone number.

Thanks. I never thought I would get the 8 Plus but after paying off my 7 Plus I knew I was going for Apple Upgrade Program so I just pulled the trigger this morning. I will give 128 Gb 7 Plus to my girl who has 6s Plus 64 gb.
