So here is my problem..

I set a desktop background via right click -> set it as background OR via candybar (Sorry, don't remember exactly)..

So I have multiple backups on TM ..

Now, for some reason the wallpaper has disappeared.. and now I am trying to restore that particular wallpaper from TM.

Now, I have never ever restored from TM so I am a n00b on that.

Reading on net i searched ~/Library/Desktop Pictures/ and /Library/Desktop Pictures/ (mine is a single user system) on the TM but all there is are standard wallpapers..

Can anyone help me on retrieving that wallpaper I have lost? Not sure how to find it and get it out TM..

I don't even know the filename (as i set it by method said above), so can't do a search for it as well

again, n00b here.. :)

What about ~/Library/Safari/Safari Desktop Picture.jpg ?

If you didn't set it from Safari or don't see it in that folder's history from Time Machine, you can examine ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist to see what it's referencing. You may need to use TM on that file as well.

To get into TM, from the TM menu you can select Enter Time Machine, or launch the Time Machine app from within the Applications folder.

I had actually gone through this method and solved this issue of mine already after doing some searching through library.. I came to close the thread.. but yeah this is the way i found mine :D
