Hi
I just got a new Macbook pro. I was wondering what is the best thing to do to get the longest life of the laptop. Do I turn it on right away and start using it and drain the battery until it turns off and then fully charge it or do I full charge it right out of the box?
Do I start using it while charging it?
Thanks

IMHO it was something we did for mobile phones back in the days. I think it's getting less relevant. When I got mine (MBP), I charged it for 30mn and started using it right away. Two years later, no battery degradation noticed.

Old habits die hard for me. I plug in and charge it fully before pulling it off the charger that first time. You can use it and I did.

But I am sure it is not needed.
