I just jailbroke my ipod the other day (took just 1 minute... Wow!) anyways, I was wondering, If I backed up my jailbroken ipod in it's current state, would restoring to a jailbroken backup restore it to original iOS software? if so, that's good because I just want to be able to revert without losing my new apps and having to track down and re download them.
(by new apps I mean the ones that don't require a jailbroken iphone, ones I get from the app store, not Cydia)

No, it doesn't work like that. iTunes doesn't backup stuff like that. It only backs up device settings, applications, etc. It wasn't made to backup tweaks and jailbreak stuff.

I'm not sure because i've never needed what you want, but there may be something that lets you save your tweaks and stuff, etc.

Oh no not that I just wanted to be able to revert at any time I wanted without totally screwing up.
