ive got a new bootroom 3gs unlocked running on the ipad baseband at 5.0.1.

Ive tried to downgrade from the ipad baseband several times and every time, redsn0w "quits unexpectedly" after about 5 minutes on the "processing..." screen.

Heres my question, am I supposed to be selecting a custom ipsw since that is what my phone is really running on? or is the stock ipsw sufficient when doing the "select ipsw" in redsn0w?

Ive just been selecting the stock ipsw but it quits everytime. All i have to do at that point is hold pwr/home until my phone reboots normally like nothing happened, so it clearly isn't getting too far in the downgrade process.

EDIT

redsn0w only accepts stock ipsws. anyone else not able to downgrade? i know theres a small lot that cant downgrade so that could be it.
