I'm just wondering, and probably being dumb, but why can't apple have a 3g set up so that it could be 2.5g normally for phone calls and receiving texts/mms/emails but have a setting so that it automatically goes to 3g if you want to use anything that sucks the band width (interweb, appstore etc).
This would be awesome you get the speed and it should make the batteries last a hell of a lot longer...
I really can't be bothered to change the 3g setting every time I flick between the two and just leave 3g always on which sucks the juice.
