Yes Yes I know there are a LOT of questions floating around about ram however there's one that I couldn't find and I do apologize if my searching skills are lacking... but anyways...

Here's the deal I have a Mid 2007 It's the Black MB063LL/A so it came with the standard 1 GB ram..

What's the deal with the Late 2006 and Mid 2007 macbooks only being upgradable to 3.3GB ram while the Late 2007's can recognize the full 4GB's?

sounds unlikely - I have not heard of this

I guess the only way to find out would be to ask at an apple store or phone the support.

good luck:)

everywhere I look I see that it's limited to 3.3GB due to hardware limitations... that it will recognize the full 4GB but 700mb of ram won't be utilized... this just seems strange...

well after some digging I have found that as mentioned above the difference is the chipsets... the late 2007's use the santa rosa chipset which enables them to use the full 4GB...

meh.. going from 1GB -> 3.3GB's should make a difference to me...
