Hello I have a question about Activity Monitor, com.apple.geod (Not Responding) what is this and is it safe that this is not responding ? is it normal for it to do this.

Also my computer is using 13.22 gm of memory out of 16.00 gb is this normal to use this much memory up ?

Here is a screen shot of my Activity Monitor ~ computer is a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch late 2014)

That is the process that provides location data to apps that search for it.

I have seen the same thing in Yosemite and I think it is just a bug. I noticed that after a while the process relaunches.

Your memory pressure is in the green there, so don't sweat it. Yosemite is pretty aggressive about trying to use all available memory by design.

Thank you for getting back and thank you for the help ^^ good to know I'm not the only one having this issue, is it bad that it does not respond or is it safe ?

Have a great day.

It does not seem to hurt anything. That is the process that provides location services to apps you have allowed to determine your location. It look like it restarts on its own when needed.
