I just got the new late 2015 5k iMac, the 1999 model. I have 32 gigs of ddr3 1600 memory that i can pull from my mid 2011 27 inch iMac. I see on the specs that the new iMac specs 1866 ddr3 memory. Would I notice a decrease in performance by putting the 32 gig 1600 memory in the new iMac? It has the standard 8 gigs.

Thanks

You would, but likely not something you would notice. It all depends on what you are doing.

I think its a no go. I tried the memory and it would not boot just got a beep every 3 seconds or so.
