I noticed that all the printer drivers on my computer take up about 1.9 gigs of hard drive space. I understand the reason for all of these, it makes it possible for me to plug into almost any printer where ever i go. But i was wondering, whats the big need for all of these drivers if i only have one printer. And if i was to buy a new printer, wouldn't it come with its own drivers to install? So, i was wondering is it really necessary to have all of these and are there other mac users that decided to delete their drivers. And if so, are there any regrets?

It's fine to delete your excess printer drivers if you like. Most printers do come with drivers but some of the more popular models are starting to not include drivers for Tiger since their drivers are pre-installed. Of course, if you get a new printer that's like this, you can always reinstall the driver from the OSX discs. 
FWIW, I haven't bothered deleting mine. I don't need the extra space that desperately.
