Question About An Upgrade w/ AT&T on A Line

I have a total of 5 lines on a family plan with AT&T, plus a line for my 3G iPad 2. My primary line is eligible to upgrade in December while everyone else is eligible to use the early upgrade discount. I noticed on my iPad line that it is currently eligible to be upgraded with full discount. My question is could I actually pull this off or would AT&T catch it? I'm asking for anyone who has gone through this or thought about it as well. Thanks in advance.

Your ipad is not a phone. call att and ask them if you want to try to upgrade your ipad to a phone.

I understand that it's not a phone, but it's treated as a line. I will give them a call to clarify.
