So I've got a new iPhone 15 Pro, in natural titanium, and i am for the first time in a very long time absolutely loving the feel of the phone in my hand. It would almost be a crying shame to put it in a case and screen protector. I've always bought a Pitaka case (which weighs nothing, and a screen protector) Which all said and done is about $70. I'm very careful with my phone but it does probably see one or two drops within its year of ownership.
I've never ever got apple care, cos i've never ever needed to call upon it, however if i'm to choose to run with a naked phone this iteration, then knowing it'll probably be dropped once or twice (at most) there is the risk of damage. To where i would be calling upon Apple care.
For $9.99 per month, its only $50 more than the case and screen protector. So i'm thinking to myself, what gives ?
What exactly is the deal ? is it no questions asked ? It says each incident is subject to a service fee of $29 .... nothing too crazy there. Its the back glass damage excess fee is what i'm concerned about... is it $129 if you drop the phone? ONLY if you crack the back glass and everything else is $29 ? Also is the back glass strengthened or is it likely to crack if you drop it.. i know that's a stupid question, but it seems to me the most likely place to take a hit is a corner, and not the back glass, unless it just cracks easily. Anyway thoughts appreciated. I am really enjoying this new titanium feel and rounded corners in the hand this yr. This has been my favorite iPhone for a long long time.
