If I have an iPhone hooked up to an internet service provider, will it show the location of the iPhone on Apple Maps?

In other words, if I was driving around in a residential area with the iPhone in the car, would it show where the iPhone is on the map?

Yes, the phone has a GPS chip. People use it for navigation.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking though. Do you mean if you have it hooked up to your ISP rather than cellular, if it would still work? In that case, no...because your wireless network wouldn't cover your whole neighborhood. You would need to download maps for offline use.

Or do you mean if it would show up in the Maps app on your Mac (because of your screenshot)? No, it doesn't show in the Maps apps. You use the Find My app for that.
