For this hypothetical situation lets say I have an iPhone that I want to trade in to apple for credit and put towards a new iPhone, it has no physical damage but the battery health is 78%. I look on the apple website and lets say it says my phone has a trade in value of $200. Because the battery needs replacing, will they still give me the $200 trade in value, or will they adjust and lower the amount because of the battery health?

As far as I understand, all refurbished iPhones come with a new battery. So the cost of replacing the battery is already factored in. They'll be doing it regardless of if your battery health is 78% or 98%.

I just traded in an 11 with 73% health and received full value for it. I don't think there was even a question about battery health.

As long as the phone turns on and stays on long enough to show it works you're golden. I'm sure if it won't turn on or dies immediately you may have problems trading it in for full value

Ad far as I know, they are replacing batteries on refurbished anyway, even if health is still >90%, so it should not change anything

Good to know, thank you all for the replies/info.
Just to give you my first hand experience, I traded in a 14 PM a few days ago with 81% health and almost 500 cycles, and Apple gave me the maximum evaluation available (it was in perfect conditions if not for the battery).
