Hello,
July 23rd I bought a 2011 Macbook pro 15'' with applecare. I planned to activate the warranty after the one year standard apple coverage. But recently I went to check the coverage and it shows it is active. So can I call apple and ask them to refund or w.e,(not sure what to ask) So that I can activate it before the one year warranty is up?
Thank you.

AppleCare expiration is based on the date your Mac was purchased, not the date you activate AppleCare.

So if you bought your Mac on 7/23/11, and waited until 7/23/12 to activate your AppleCare, it would still expire on 7/23/14.

ah I see I i was just hoping I could get another year out of it, so I just deal with it, thank you for the fast reply!

The AC extends the one year to total 3 years ... seems Apple activated it for you ... even if you wanted to wait to activate ... it would still only extend it for 2 more years.
