I recently had my screen replaced due to the display being cracked.

Since then the auto brightness has been a lot brighter than usual even in areas where it would normally be darker.

Is this display dependant how this works or something? Or does it calibrate over time?

Was this an OEM Apple display or third party?

Auto brightness is related to the ambient light sensor more than the display. If you think it’s too bright then manually bring the brightness down. Hopefully it will stick at that settings.

It’s official Apple

So if I change the brightness in control centre will the auto brightness stay on but be darker? Obviously it will still change but will it be darker overall?

That’s how it’s supposed to work.
