Can someone that has iOS 5 let me know if there is any improvement in allowing apps to load content in the background. For example, if an IM app gets a new message, I know you will see the notification up top but will the message be loaded in the background or will it have to load after you open the app?

Just to explain what I mean, in Beejive, Whatsapp, etc. when I get a message now, I see the popup and then open the app. Once the app is opened, it first has to connect and then load the message. Is this still the case or has this been improved? Other instances where background loading would be useful include newspaper apps (having the paper loaded automatically every morning), RSS feeds, etc. Thanks.

I've been wanting something this for the Reeder rss app. At the least, it would be nice if the badge showed how many articles are unread. As of now, you have to go into the app for the badge to update.

I'm guessing with the notification system, we may see some compromises.
