Question about backing up iPhone and starting new one

Getting iPhone 4 on Verizon on Monday. I have a few questions. Should I start my new phone as a copy of my current phone? Or should I start anew? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both?

You should be able to restore your old backup to your new iPhone. I don't think there are any disadvantages to it.

Are you currently jailbroken?

I would NOT use a backup on the new device, mainly to make sure everything is fresh and perfect.

That being said, you'll loose your game data if you don't use a backup.

@celticpride678. Backups are transferrable, even between iPhone versions. Why do you not use a backup?

It's not restoring your firmware, just your Apps, settings, music, etc.
