When I connect my iPhone to the computer and open iTunes, it creates a backup, right? (It says 'creating backup.')

I noticed under Apps, since I have "Sync Apps" unchecked, there are some apps I have on my iPhone that are not listed there in iTunes. Is this because I downloaded them after unchecking the 'sync apps' option?

Also, if I were to have to restore my phone from a backup, would my apps be restored as well, or do you have to re-download apps? (Does the fact that I have 'Sync apps automatically' unchecked make a difference?)

Yeah, iTunes isn't getting the apps because it only gets them when you sync and have "Sync Applications" checked.

But you can easily right click on your iPhone, and press "Transfer Purchases" and it will bring them over to iTunes.
