Question about band sizing.

I’m waiting for my SS S8 AW to be delivered, 41mm (I have small wrists.)

I have two braided solo loops size 5, which fit me just right. My AW is coming with the starlight solo loop in size 5, which I’m assuming will fit the same.

I’ve found a good deal on the saddle brown leather link band, 40mm. It says it fits wrist sizes 140mm-180mm.

Would this size fit me?

Also, being 40mm & not 41mm, would it fit the AW well and not look odd?

I’m new to the AW, so thanks in advance for any guidance.

Edit: Just measured my wrist, and a snug fit is 160mm.

Sounds like you addressed the fit question about your wrist.

Watch bands come in two sizes. One for 38/40/41MM watches and one for 42/44/45/49MM watches. As long as the band you buy is for your size watch, it will fit correctly and will not stick out.

Not to hijack the thread but on a similar note, does anyone know if 45mm bands are wider where the straps are vs 41mm?

Some people have reported needing different sizes for the braided and non-braided solo loops. Other people have said the same size worked fine. So it depends. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The 40 and 41 sizes refer to the different sizes of the watch faces as Apple made them bigger. But the band width has stayed the same. So no problem. I'm using the sports band that came with my S0 on my S6, and plan to use it on the S8 when I get it.

My old watch was a 41mm series 7 and now that I got my AWU, I’m comparing the band width to the 49mm Trail Loop and the TL is much wider than say my 41mm silicone strap. I ordered some 45mm silicone straps so hoping they would be wider just like the TL.

Hopefully this helps. On the right is my AWU trail loop and on the left are the 3 bands I had with my S4 44MM SBSS. The stock sport band and link bracelet are slightly narrower than the trail loop, but the sport loop is approximately the same width.
