Question About Battery Life

When Apple states that the iPhone can play video up to seven hours, does that mean continously in airplane mode without the radio on?

I know stupid question but need to ask.

When they quote battery life, they are usually saying how long it can go without standby time and continously. That would probably be in airplane mode too, but not sure.
