have a question between the relation of battery drain and adjusting brightness for different displays on macbook retina. I have to raise the brightness bars higher on the LG screen for macbook retina to achieve the same amount of brightess compared to a Samsung screen. For instance, for a comfortable brightness level on the Samsung screen, I need to raise the brightness level to 5 bars, for the LG screen I need to raise it to 7 bars to get the same amount of brightness. Does this mean that I'm draining more battery ?

Not necessarily. The light might be different in the back on one rMBP. You would have to test it yourself to know for sure.
