First post! Hi everyone!

I currently have a MacBook Pro from 2008 and I'm planning to buy a new MacBook Pro in the next year. I'd like to upgrade my old MacBook to Mavericks (in no rush though). I'm wondering if buying the new MacBook with Mavericks pre-installed will credit my store account with the Mavericks 'purchase'.

If that's the case, I could just wait until I get my new MacBook to upgrade my old one. If that's not the case, I could just buy Mavericks for my old MacBook when it's released.

Thanks!

No, buying a new Mac with an OS preinstalled does not give you the license to install that OS on other Macs you own. You would need to buy the retail copy of the OS version, which entitles you to install on all Macs you own.
