Question about buying watch thru Verizon

If I bought an Apple Watch with LTE through Verizon Wireless would the watch be locked to Verizon just like when someone buys a phone from Verizon Wireless?

Wait, you mean locked just like the phones. Cause I know the phones are locked to Verizon, if you purchase the phone at the Verizon store.

I’ve purchased the phones always at Verizon and asked more than one rep and they say they are unlocked. All of them.
