I have a question that I guess is part programming, because I program and I'm curious, and part just general curiousity...I've noticed that a lot of Java/Carbon programs, such as NeoOffice/J and Image/J, have flakiness associated with the menus. Sometimes, when certain windows are active, almost all of the menus disappear, and one is left with just a single menu under the name of the app. Then one must click on another window of the app to get the menus back. But it isn't consistent which window produces the menu -- for instance in Image/J, sometimes you get menus if the toolbar window is active, and sometimes you get menus when the image window is active.
Is this some basic issue with Java/Carbon programming, or what is this all about? I see these kinds of oddities in almost every /J program I've tried (I think DVArchive does it too) and never anywhere else.
Not complaining, just curious....
