I have a few questions. First does anyone know if clawpack is worth using (aside from the cost) to jailbreak an iphobe 3GS running ios4? Does it work well? Also any idea when a jailbreak will come out for the iphone 3GS running ios4???

I have never heard of the clawpack, but that does not mean anything. You should be posting jailbreak question to the iPhone Hacks forum.
