Hey all, just a quick one.

I’ve just updated over the air from the last public beta to the GM of iOS 11.

I currently don’t have a computer so what I done was done the GM update, removed the beta profile and then done a full erase and and set up as new.

Normally I would plug my phone into iTunes and do a fresh restore that way.

Will this give me the same result? By doing it this way will it have deleted all the beta logs and stuff like that?

I just like to have a fresh new phone when big updates come it for performance, battery etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Im wondering can I restore using the iOS 11 GM or restore iOS 10.3.3 and then update thru itunes.
Cuz i want clean installation.

Good questions, Caris.

I can answer your question about the logs. They were cleared out on a full erase and set up with my iCloud backup.

Not sure about which results in a cleaner install, erase/restore or iTunes. Maybe someone will chime in.

I asked the same thing about two or three years ago and someone stated that updating to the final version and then erasing all contents and settings and setting up as new gives the same results as a clean iTunes restore. I did not try it though as I trust iTunes method a bit more, but in theory it should be.
