Resolved Question about Component on PS 2 FAT?

I have a really dumb question about Component on the Playstation 2 FAT. First off is this the only way to do Progressive Scan? Also is it possible to separate the audio into 2 audio cables so I can make it go to an different audio device (I don't want it to go to the TV)?

I know these are dumb questions, I know nothing about Component AV cables. I normally have a site where I can ask these retro Video gaming questions, but the site is down and I don't know any other good gaming site to go to.

Never mind. I found the HDMI video adaptor for the PS 2 which will do what I want to do a hell of lot easier. I don't know how good this thing is, but all the reviews say they are good and it was only $10. So if it's junk I'm not loosing out too much money. :/
