Hello,
How are you?
I have a question about the fusion drive.
Suppose I have my system up and running with a HDD.
I do a full clone of the HDD using super dupper or carbon copy.
I then swap the HDD for a bigger one and install a SSD on an optibay.
I then go to the mountain lion recovery and create the fusion drive.
Can I then restore my clone to the fusion drive? Or is a clean install needed?

Cheers

That' s what I did on a late 2009 iMac, except you don't have a recovery partion on your "new" drive ;-) I used a USB stick to create the fusion drive and for installing a fresh copy of MT. I then used migration assistant to migrate from my superduper clone backup. Everything worked perfectly. BTW superduper works fine with fusiondrive. I think it would be ok to copy back your SD backup without doing a fresh install of ML ( booting from an ext. disk). But why not do a fresh install of ML, now you got the chance :).
