question about downloading and sync-ing email

I have a Yahoo mail box that I want to clean it up for quite some time. However, not everything can be deleted. I have to read again each mail , delete the useless one, keep the useful one.

Can I do it with my iPad? How to ? Could it delete the mail at the same time on the Yahoo server??

I have no time doing this with my PC computer, only on mobile devices ,. As a result, I want to know how to download email

Are these POP mail servers or IMAP servers? POP is handled locally; IMAP is synced to the server. Make sure you're configuring your email to use the IMAP option if available. I don't know how Yahoo does things.

I finally succeed without setting anything about POP or IMAP.

I can just add Yahoo! account in iPad setting, followed by entering username and password. Nothing to do with POP or IMAP....
