Hey guys,

I was hoping someone could help me figure out an issue I'm having with this. Basically, I'm trying to operate my rMBP in clamshell mode while driving video to my external Thunderbolt display. I can do that, however, I can't use my wired mouse and wired keyboard when they're connected to the display's ports -- only when they're connected to my notebook.

Is there a way to workaround this?

Thanks!

Do the ports on the display work if your notebook is open/not in clamshell mode?

Yeah.

For example, right now, my notebook is set up as a dual monitor with my Thunderbolt Display. My keyboard and mouse are plugged into the display and work just fine.

However, if I plug in my AC adapter to my notebook, close it into clamshell mode. The mouse and keyboard don't work unless they're plugged into the Macbook's USB drives.

Are you using the wall adapter for your notebook or the AC adapter that comes with the Thunderbolt display? If the former, try using the monitor's plug. If the latter, do the opposite.
