Hi everyone,

I'm really happy with my new MBP but I have a question about connecting external speakers to it.

I'm planning on getting M-Audio's LX4 5.1 speakers, since they're perfect for my needs (work and movie watching). The problem is that they only have 1/4 jack inputs.

So, is there any way to connect these to the MBP and still get 5.1 sound?

What kind of cables/adapters do I need?

Thanks.

Right, I had read this and it basically says that I need 1/4 jack inputs that the MBP doesn't have. If this was a PC i'd just get a soundblaster external soundcard which has the right outputs, but they don't have one for Mac. So I was wondering if anyone has another solution.

Thanks, this is what I was looking for. Now i dont want to push my luck, but any chance there is a similar device that also works with XP so i can use it in bootcamp?
