Question about EyeTV250....

I currently have cable TV via Cox. I have an HD DVR Converter box which enables me to see high def and non high def programs. I don't have any premium movie channels.

I would like to buy the EyeTV for my Macbook but am unclear on something. I have tried researching this on their forums without luck.

If I connect the EyeTV250 directly to the coax cable, completely bypassing my existing converter box, will I be able to receive all of the stations I currently receive when viewing TV normally. Specifically, will I be able to view the HD channels?

No EyeTV250 In My Future

I did some more searching and found the answer on a customer feedback section of Amazon. Looks like this is much more limiting in available content than their website states ..... this link is for info from their Support section.

Ask your cable company if they broadcast ANY channels using Clear QAM, (sometimes called unencrypted digital) and you will have your answer.

I worked for Cox many years ago and my feeling is they don't do Clear QAM.
