Selling my Early 2008 Macbook Pro and had a question about resetting it.

I have a couple programs that give it a better selling value, is there a way to reset it back to factory while also keeping those programs on? I appreciate the help!

Your best bet is to wipe and reinstall your OS, then reinstall the apps. That way none of your data or settings remain.

If you're on Snow Leopard or earlier:
If you're on Lion or later:

No you don't. Macs have stopped shipping with install DVD's in 2011, every since Lion the OS creates a recovery partition for itself and can restore itself from there.

You can order replacement discs for your model by calling Apple (800-767-2775 in the US).
